Natick School Committee
Thank you, natick!
Highlights
NPS is a great school district. I am running for re-election to the Natick School Committee in order to make NPS an excellent school district...for every single Natick student.
If re-elected, I will work to:
Ensure every student has a clear path to academic, social-emotional, and life-long success
Ensure that every student feels welcomed, supported, and seen in each of our schools
Support our teachers in their endeavor to educate our students
Bring continuity and proven leadership to the superintendent transition process
Engage the community in the development of a new NPS strategic plan
To this mission, I will bring my strong track record from my four+ years on the Committee:
Proven Leadership: Examples include representing the School Committee on the NPS COVID task force, being voted by colleagues to chair the Committee, leading the School Committee through a superintendent transition (Dr. Nolin to Ms. Wong), and leading the Committee through the search and hiring of our new permanent superintendent, Dr. Melissa Spash.
Supporting Students' Academic and Social-Emotional Success: Examples include reviewing and approving new K-12 math curricula, advocating for a transition to the Science of Reading, and championing SEL and mental health supports.
Steadfast Commitment to Equity: Examples include approving the METCO expansion, issuing the proclamation to fly the pride progress flag in our schools, and adding Diwali and Eid al-Fitr to the NPS calendar.
Strong Town Partner: Examples include representing the School Committee on the Fire Chief Screening Committee and Natick 180.
I will also bring my personal experience including:
Doctorate of Education from Harvard University.
Over 25 years of professional experience conducting research and promoting best practices in education.
Former chair of Natick Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) and other volunteer roles in town.
Resident of Natick since 2010 with wife, two children (NPS students), and two dogs.
Committed to ensuring the best education for every Natick student!
